How to track unfollowers using your data export

Instagram lets you download a snapshot of your followers and following lists at any point in time. By comparing two snapshots — one from now and one from a few months ago — you can see exactly who unfollowed you.

For a one-time check of who currently doesn't follow you back, a single export is all you need.

How to export your Instagram data

1. Go to your Instagram Profile → Menu (☰) → Accounts Centre
2. Tap Your information and permissions → Export your information → Create export
3. Choose your account → Export to device
4. Tap Customise information → select Followers and following only
5. Set date range to All time, format to JSON
6. Request the export and download the ZIP when notified
